PRP Therapy

PRP starts with a standard blood draw. The sample is spun in a centrifuge so that the platelets — the cells that carry growth factors — are separated and concentrated, then this plasma is injected into the dermis of the face or around the hair follicles of the scalp. The growth factors signal fibroblasts to build new collagen and can prolong the growing phase of the follicle. Nothing foreign is introduced, so allergic reaction is essentially not a concern. A course of three sessions, spaced about a month apart, is typical.

Why patients choose Istanbul

Turkey combines high surgical volume with lower running costs, which is why the same materials and devices used in Western Europe cost a fraction here. Swedish Clinic works inside a licensed full-fledged hospital under a Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate, holds Temos international accreditation and runs an ISO 9001 (UKAS) certified management system — the three things worth checking before you book anywhere abroad.

PRP Therapy

It can slow early thinning and thicken hair that is still present, particularly in the first years of androgenetic hair loss. It does not regrow hair in an area that is already bald — a graft is the honest answer there, and we will say so rather than sell you a course.

Usually three, about four weeks apart, then a maintenance session every six to twelve months. Some patients notice a change after the first session; most see it around the second.

The blood draw feels like any blood test. For the scalp we use a topical anaesthetic and sometimes a nerve block; on the face the injections are superficial and brief. Mild tightness or redness for a day is normal.

Yes. PRP sits well alongside microneedling, mesotherapy or a hair transplant recovery plan. What we avoid is stacking several treatments into one visit, because then nobody can tell which one worked.
