PRP is not one product. What you end up with depends on the tube, the spin speed and the number of spins, and those choices differ enormously between clinics offering what looks like the same treatment at the same price.
What It Actually Is.
Your own blood, drawn on the day and processed to concentrate the platelets and the growth factors they carry, then injected into the tissue being treated. It is autologous, which means there is no foreign material and no allergy risk.
It is used for scalp, for skin quality, and around surgical sites. In every one of those the principle is identical: it improves tissue that is still alive. It does not create new tissue.
Why The Protocol Matters More Than The Brand.
A single low-speed spin yields a thin preparation that is quicker and easier to produce. A double-spin protocol concentrates platelets several times above baseline and takes longer.
Ask which protocol is used and how many spins. If the answer is vague, the treatment is being sold rather than planned. The tube brand printed on the marketing matters far less than what was actually done with it.
What It Can And Cannot Do.
Thicken shafts and lengthen the growth phase in hair that still exists, reduce daily shedding, improve skin texture and support a field around fresh grafts. Patients with early diffuse thinning or shedding after illness, surgery or childbirth gain the most.
Regrow hair on skin that has been smooth for years. Once a follicle has fully miniaturised and the tissue has fibrosed there is nothing to stimulate. It also does nothing about the hormonal driver of androgenetic loss.
How We Decide Whether To Offer It.
For scalp cases we measure with a trichoscope and count miniaturised against terminal hairs in the area worrying you. Where more than roughly half the follicles are still terminal, a course is worth doing. Where they are not, we tell you to put the money into grafts instead.
It is a course, not a single shot, and we review at three months. If the measurement has not moved by then, we say that too.

How much do non-surgical treatments cost in Istanbul, Turkey?
At Swedish Clinic, Botox starts from €150 per area, dermal fillers from €250 per syringe and PRP from €200 per session. Mesotherapy, thread lift, laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation are priced after the examination, because the cost depends on the area, the mixture or the number of threads. You receive a written, all-inclusive figure before anything is booked.
Are injectable treatments in Turkey safe?
They are when the person holding the needle is a doctor. Every injection here is given by a board-certified dermatologist inside our licensed hospital, which has intensive care on site. We hold Temos international accreditation, an ISO 9001 (UKAS) certified management system and a Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health. Hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves filler, is always on hand.
How many days do I need in Istanbul?
Most of these treatments are outpatient and fit into 1-3 days; a thread lift needs 2-3. The exception is anything that works as a course: laser hair removal takes six to eight sessions four to six weeks apart, and mesotherapy four to six. Those only make sense if you come to Istanbul regularly, and we say so rather than sell you a single session.
Who will actually do my treatment?
A dermatologist registered as a specialist with the Turkish Ministry of Health, never a nurse, beautician or technician. The same doctor examines your face, maps which muscles actually move it before injecting, and reviews the result with you at two weeks: in clinic if you are still here, or from photographs once you are home.
Is there any downtime after Botox or fillers?
After Botox, essentially none: pinpoint marks or mild redness for an hour or two, and we ask you to stay upright and skip the gym, the sauna and rubbing the area that day. Fillers can bruise and swell for a few days. A thread lift means two to three days of swelling, with no hard chewing or dental work for two weeks.
How do I know whether these treatments will work for me?
Some will not, and we prefer to say so early. Laser does nothing to grey or very fine blonde hair. PRP thickens hair that is still there but will not regrow a bald area, a graft is the honest answer. A thread lift lifts by millimetres, so advanced sagging needs surgery. Botox is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
