A fixed provisional bridge is attached within 24 to 72 hours, so you leave Istanbul eating on fixed teeth. The final bridge, usually monolithic zirconium, follows once the bone has integrated.
When Four Is Enough, And When We Insist On Six.
Good bone quality, an opposing arch that is a denture or natural teeth without heavy bite force, and no grinding. In that situation four implants distribute load safely and have twenty years of published follow-up behind them.
Patients who grind, who have a strong natural opposing bite, or who show soft bone on the CT scan. The extra two shorten the cantilever at the back, which is where a four-implant bridge is most stressed.

The provisional is not a smaller version of the final bridge. It is acrylic, it is slightly bulkier, and it is designed to be replaced.

- Weeks 1-2. Soft food only. Speech adapts within days; most people notice their own S sounds long after anyone else stops hearing them.
- Weeks 3-12. Normal soft-to-medium diet. No biting into hard crusts, no opening anything with your teeth, no ice.

The practical consequence: an upper All-on-4 is more sensitive to bite force and to grinding, and it is the arch where we more often recommend six. If you are having both arches, they are not the same operation done twice.
