Hyaluronic Acid, And Nothing Else.

Everything we inject can be dissolved in minutes. That single property is what makes an emergency survivable, a lump correctable, and a change of mind possible, and it is why we will not use a permanent product anywhere on a face.

The One Complication That Is A Real Emergency.

Arteries run close to the injection planes. If filler enters or compresses one, the tissue it supplies loses its blood supply. This is vascular occlusion, and it announces itself with disproportionate pain, blanching that goes white then mottled, and a dusky colour over the following hours.

Treated with hyaluronidase within a few hours it usually resolves completely. Left overnight it can leave permanent tissue loss. Know the signs before you are injected, and know that the clinic keeps hyaluronidase on the premises.

Why Dissolvable, Always.

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an injection of hyaluronidase in minutes: for an emergency, for a lump, or simply because you dislike the shape.

Permanent products, polyacrylamide gels and industrial silicone cannot be dissolved and are removed surgically, often with scarring. Lips are mobile, thin-skinned tissue that changes over decades, and permanent material in them ages badly. There is no case in which we would inject a permanent filler into a lip.

Swelling, Lumps, And What Is Actually Normal.

Lips swell more than any other filler site. Expect maximum swelling at twenty-four to forty-eight hours, often asymmetrical, settling over five to seven days. Small firm areas at one week are usually product that has not yet integrated and respond to gentle massage.

What is not normal: pain that increases after day one, white or grey skin, or a tender lump appearing weeks later. That last one may be a delayed inflammatory reaction and needs to be seen, not massaged.

Under The Eye: The Hardest Area.

The groove is not a shadow you can fill wherever you like. A ligament tethers the skin to the bone along the lower orbital rim, orbital fat pushes forward above it, and the skin covering all of it is about half a millimetre thick, the thinnest on the body.

Hyaluronic acid placed too superficially under thin skin scatters light and shows as a bluish-grey line, the Tyndall effect, which no concealer hides. Product has to sit deep, directly on the bone, in small volumes: 0.3 to 0.5 ml per side is usually the entire treatment.

Who we turn away here: people who wake with puffy lids that improve through the day, because hyaluronic acid binds water and will make that worse for months; and people whose problem is herniated fat rather than a hollow, which is a lower blepharoplasty case. Declining these is not caution, it is diagnosis.

How Much, How Often, And When It Starts To Look Done.

A first lip session is 0.5 to 1 ml, one syringe or less, from €250 a syringe, lasting nine to fifteen months in most patients. Under the eye it lasts longer, twelve to eighteen months, because the area barely moves.

The migrated, shelf-like upper lip you notice in photographs comes from repeated top-ups before the previous product has resorbed, not from one large treatment. We will dissolve and restart rather than layer over old filler, and we will decline to add more once the lip has reached what its skin envelope can hold. We review at day fourteen and add a small amount if needed, rather than filling to the final shape on day one.

The Ones People Actually Ask.

How much do non-surgical treatments cost in Istanbul, Turkey?

At Swedish Clinic, Botox starts from €150 per area, dermal fillers from €250 per syringe and PRP from €200 per session. Mesotherapy, thread lift, laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation are priced after the examination, because the cost depends on the area, the mixture or the number of threads. You receive a written, all-inclusive figure before anything is booked.

Are injectable treatments in Turkey safe?

They are when the person holding the needle is a doctor. Every injection here is given by a board-certified dermatologist inside our licensed hospital, which has intensive care on site. We hold Temos international accreditation, an ISO 9001 (UKAS) certified management system and a Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health. Hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves filler, is always on hand.

How many days do I need in Istanbul?

Most of these treatments are outpatient and fit into 1-3 days; a thread lift needs 2-3. The exception is anything that works as a course: laser hair removal takes six to eight sessions four to six weeks apart, and mesotherapy four to six. Those only make sense if you come to Istanbul regularly, and we say so rather than sell you a single session.

Who will actually do my treatment?

A dermatologist registered as a specialist with the Turkish Ministry of Health, never a nurse, beautician or technician. The same doctor examines your face, maps which muscles actually move it before injecting, and reviews the result with you at two weeks: in clinic if you are still here, or from photographs once you are home.

Is there any downtime after Botox or fillers?

After Botox, essentially none: pinpoint marks or mild redness for an hour or two, and we ask you to stay upright and skip the gym, the sauna and rubbing the area that day. Fillers can bruise and swell for a few days. A thread lift means two to three days of swelling, with no hard chewing or dental work for two weeks.

How do I know whether these treatments will work for me?

Some will not, and we prefer to say so early. Laser does nothing to grey or very fine blonde hair. PRP thickens hair that is still there but will not regrow a bald area, a graft is the honest answer. A thread lift lifts by millimetres, so advanced sagging needs surgery. Botox is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Do you help with hotel, transfers and translation?

Yes. We arrange airport transfers, a translator at every appointment and help with your hotel booking, with several hotels within ten minutes of the clinic. Because everything is outpatient, most patients keep their afternoons free, your coordinator plans appointments around whatever you want to see in Istanbul.
