Your first consultation: what happens and what to ask
Bring photographs, medication lists and questions written down, the ones you forget are always the ones that mattered.
What we do first
Photographs, measurements or imaging appropriate to your procedure, and a medical history including medications, allergies, previous surgery and smoking. Only then does the clinician give an opinion, anything offered before assessment is a guess.
What you should receive
A written plan naming the technique, the surgeon, the number of sessions or units, the total price, what is excluded, and the expected recovery timeline. If any of those is missing, ask for it before you decide.
Five questions worth asking
Who performs the procedure? What is the realistic result for my anatomy? What are the three most likely complications? What happens if I need a revision? Who do I contact after I fly home?
You are allowed to say no
A consultation is not a commitment. Take the plan away, sleep on it, get a second opinion. Any pressure to decide on the day is a reason to leave, good clinics have full schedules and no need for it.
