Istanbul & travel

Can you combine treatment with a real holiday?

Sometimes — but the order matters. Holiday first, treatment second, and never the reverse.

Why holiday first

Sun, sea, alcohol and long walks are all restricted after most procedures. Doing the tourism before treatment means you enjoy it properly and then rest afterwards, rather than sitting in a hotel room watching your holiday pass.

Which procedures allow gentle sightseeing

Dental work, eyelid surgery, small liposuction areas and hair transplants after the first 48 hours all permit slow, flat, shaded walking. A Bosphorus ferry is ideal; the Grand Bazaar in August is not.

Which do not

Abdominal surgery, breast surgery, BBL and bariatric procedures need genuine rest for the first week. Booking a packed itinerary around them is how complications and disappointment happen together.

The realistic model

Two or three days of sightseeing before your procedure, then a calm recovery week, then fly home. Many patients return six to twelve months later for the holiday they postponed — often with the second stage of treatment.

Can you combine treatment with a real holiday?

Not until wounds are fully healed — typically three weeks, and longer for abdominal surgery. Sea and pool water both carry infection risk.
