Months, Not Days.
Acne is driven by four linked factors, and which one dominates decides the plan. That is why a dermatologist examines your skin before anything is chosen, and why the in-clinic stage here is deliberately short.
Four Linked Factors.
- Excess sebum.
- Blocked follicles.
- Cutibacterium acnes.
- Inflammation.
A dermatologist examines your skin, identifies which of them dominates, and builds the plan around it. Two people with the same visible acne can need different treatments for that reason.
The Order Matters More Than The Tools.
Topical or oral medical therapy reduces sebum and inflammation. Salicylic or glycolic peels clear the follicle. Laser or microneedling remodels scarring, and only once the active lesions have settled.
Why The In-Clinic Stage Is Short.
Acne responds over months rather than days. So the part that happens here is deliberately brief, two to four days, and the rest of the plan is carried out at home under review.
That is the opposite of how most treatment travel is sold, and it is the honest shape for this condition.
Who Plans It.
A specialist dermatologist plans your treatment and performs it. Your skin is examined under magnification first, because the stage of your acne decides the method.
The figure comes after that examination rather than before it, and reaches you in writing with nothing added later.
The Ones People Actually Ask.
How much does dermatology treatment cost in Istanbul, Turkey?
We quote after the skin has been examined, not before, the price depends on which treatment your skin actually needs and how many sessions the plan contains. Once the dermatologist has seen your skin you receive a written, all-inclusive figure with nothing added later. Running costs in Turkey are lower than in Western Europe, which is why the same devices cost a fraction here.
Who carries out the treatment, a dermatologist or a technician?
A specialist dermatologist plans your treatment and performs it. Your skin is examined under magnification first, because the depth of a pigment or the stage of your acne decides the method. We work inside a licensed full-fledged hospital under a Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health, with Temos accreditation and ISO 9001 (UKAS) certified management.
How many days do I need to stay in Istanbul?
Plan 2-4 days for acne or pigmentation treatment and 3-5 days for laser resurfacing. Everything is outpatient. There is no hospital stay. Dermatology carries on after you fly home, so the in-clinic stage is deliberately short and the rest of the plan is carried out at home under review.
What is the downtime after laser resurfacing?
Ablative settings remove the outer layers, so expect redness, swelling and peeling for several days until the new skin settles. Non-ablative settings heat the dermis without breaking the surface, a smaller step forward for far less downtime. Your dermatologist picks the depth with your calendar in mind. Strict sun protection afterwards is part of the treatment, not an optional extra.
Is laser safe on darker or tanned skin?
It can be, with the right device settings and a dermatologist who adjusts them to your skin type. Melanin-rich skin reacts to heat with pigment shifts more readily, so we go gentler and slower. If you arrive with a fresh tan we usually postpone the laser rather than risk it. That decision is made at the examination.
How quickly will I see a result?
Acne responds over months rather than days: medical therapy and peels calm the active lesions first, and scar remodelling with laser or microneedling only begins once the skin is quiet. Superficial sun spots and post-acne marks can fade within weeks of a laser session. Melasma is the slow one. It is managed rather than cured, and it can return.
Do you help with hotel, transfers and translation?
Yes. VIP airport transfers, a translator at every appointment, help booking a hotel near the clinic in Şişli, your medication and aftercare are included in the quoted package. The flight and the hotel room itself are the only things you arrange yourself. Because appointments are short, most patients have plenty of Istanbul left over.
