Half To Three Quarters Survives.
Between fifty and seventy per cent of transferred fat stays permanently and the rest is reabsorbed over three to six months. That range is not a failure of technique; it is the biology of moving living tissue that has to grow a new blood supply.
The Realistic Figure.
Between roughly fifty and seventy per cent of transferred fat survives permanently. The rest is reabsorbed over the first three to six months.
This is why we deliberately overfill at the operation, why the result looks best on day two and worst at week six, andwhy nothing is judged before month six.
What The Surgeon Controls.
Three technical choices move the number:
- Harvestingat low negative pressure through a wide cannula damages fewer fat cells than aggressive suction.
- Processingby decanting or gentle centrifugation removes blood and oil without crushing the graft.
- Placingit in many fine passes rather than a few large boluses keeps every droplet within a fraction of a millimetre of a blood vessel.
A large lump of injected fat has a centre that nothing can reach, and that centre dies.
What You Control.
- Do not diet in the three months after surgery.Grafted fat cells behave like every other fat cell you own, and losing weight while they are establishing reduces the volume you paid for. This is the single most common patient-side reason for a disappointing result.
- Stop smoking.Nicotine constricts exactly the small vessels the graft depends on.
- Avoid pressureon the treated area, which for a facial graft means sleeping position and for a buttock means not sitting flat for two weeks.
Why A Second Session Is Planned, Not A Failure.
In areas where survival is lowest and the demand for volume is highest, a top-up at month six is normal and we say so before you book rather than after.Fat Or Fillers: Permanent Versus Predictable.
Filler is predictable and reversible. You know the volume going in, it stays where it is placed, and hyaluronic acid can be dissolved if you dislike it. It also disappears over months and has to be repeated.
Fat is permanent in the portion that survives, uses your own tissue, and improves skin quality where it is placed. It is less predictable in volume and cannot be dissolved.
For a first change, or for someone unsure of the look they want, filler is the safer experiment. For someone who already knows the result they want and wants to stop repeating it, fat is the better answer.
The Ones People Actually Ask.
Is plastic surgery in Turkey safe?
It is when it is done properly. Your operation takes place in a licensed full-fledged hospital with intensive care on site, performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon, under a Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health. We also hold Temos international accreditation and an ISO 9001 (UKAS) certified management system. Ask any clinic abroad for these three things before you book.
How many days do I need to stay in Istanbul for surgery?
Plan 6-7 nights for most operations: consultation and tests on day one, surgery on day two, one night in hospital where needed, then dressing changes and the final check-up before you fly. Eyelid surgery and small procedures need only 3-4 nights.
Who will perform my operation?
A plastic surgeon certified by the Turkish Ministry of Health, never an assistant or technician. You meet your surgeon before the operation, discuss what is realistic for your anatomy, and the same surgeon sees you at the post-operative check-up.
Why is aesthetic surgery cheaper in Turkey than in Europe?
Lower running costs, favourable exchange rates and high surgical volume, not lower standards. The implants, sutures and devices are the same CE-certified brands used in Europe, and our surgeons operate every week rather than a few times a month.
When can I fly and go back to work after surgery?
Flying is normally cleared 5-7 days after surgery. Desk work is possible after about a week for rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery, and 2-3 weeks for body procedures such as tummy tuck, BBL or mommy makeover. Your surgeon gives you a written timeline for your case.
Do you help with hotel, transfers and translation?
Yes. VIP airport transfers, a translator in your language and help with hotel booking are part of every package, and your coordinator stays with you from the first message until long after you fly home.
One Patient, Three Frames.
Before and after, where the scar actually sits, and the result once it has settled months later rather than on the day the dressing came off.
