What is straightforward to do abroad
Fillings, fissure sealants, cleanings, extractions of baby teeth and space maintainers are single-appointment procedures with no follow-up dependency. Combined with a family holiday, they are efficient.
What should stay at home
Orthodontics in a growing child requires monitoring every 6-8 weeks. Starting it abroad and finishing it at home is possible but rarely smooth, most orthodontists are reluctant to take over a plan they did not design.
Making the appointment work for a child
Morning appointments, a parent in the room throughout, no surprise instruments and no negotiation about numbing. We plan double the adult appointment time for children under ten, because rushing a first dental experience shapes the next twenty years.
Language and consent
One parent must sign consent, and we go through the plan in your language before anything begins. Children old enough to understand get their own explanation, being talked over is what makes them afraid.
